Let it Rain!

It is expected to rain next Thursday.

Next Thursday would have been chemo day…

But it’s not.

So – let it rain!

Instead of watching the rain from a chair inside the chemo suite, hooked up to chemo meds, I will watch the rain from my front porch and sip on a hot cup of coffee.

Way better.

I have a plan.  I have an alternative.  I will be one step closer to growing hair!  I may even garden in the rain, next Thursday. I WILL smell the roses.  I WILL taste the wine.  I WILL make life count.

Even though it is expected to rain on Thursday.

About inmycorner

This blog began as an opportunity to tell my Dad's stories. I sat with him and the computer and together we told stories. It was a wonderful way to get to know Dad. He was 9. He and Mom had a wonderful life together and since she passed away a year and a half before him - Dad was ready to join her. I no longer tell his stories but have found stories of my own. The impetus to resume this blog was the discovery that I had stage 4 ovarian cancer. Since blogging had been so therapeutic for my dad and I to get through our grief, I felt maybe this would be a good outlet to process my situation. I also hoped it may serve as an outreach to anyone else who is facing this very ominous journey. So far, so good.

I am with you on this, let it rain and yes, I too will take in all the senses that it arouses. I hope you have an exciting weekend. Love, Harlon

LOVE the new plan for next Thursday. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. I feel like the promise of rain this summer is like when we get the promise of warmer temps in the winter. You know, how the number becomes +2 at the end of the weekly forecast. (Rick Mercer sketch on his show). See ya soon.

  3. Next Wed & Thurs are my scheduled chemo treatments, if white counts co-operate. My LAST treatment.
And once I get over the side effects I’m going to CELEBRATE. Throw a PARTY and welcome in Fall with a cake, streamers and such for the grandchildren. Some things call for a bash. 🙂

  4. I hope you dance in that rain.

It will be wonderful to enjoy nature at it’s best—the cleansing of the land. I also look forward to the sight, smell and sounds of rain as it replenishes the land making us ready for Fall and all its glory.

    Enjoy your Thursday

And don’t forget to jump in some puddles!
